What a great event on Saturday 2nd June when some 80 guests were enthralled by author Helene Young – what an interesting life she has led, and her books are based on her life-experiences – pilot, sailor, a person who has spent so much of her life in North Queensland. She has been compared to Nora Roberts, but most of the people at her talk thought was not so much a romantic novelist as a novelist of life.
Congratulations to Tania Paull and Julie Bailey from the Library staff, and all the Friends of the Library Committee who contributed to making this such a memorable day.
Helene obviously enjoyed herself, judging by the comments posted on her website, with quite a few photos of the audience:http://www.heleneyoung.com/2013/06/seppeltsfields/
Her agent was so impressed by the enthusiasm and support shown by the Barossans that we will probably have another author event later this year.
I’d love to come and do it all again next year! Mother’s Day maybe?? Thanks for being so hospitable and welcoming.
